Thomas Lighting has been in the lighting business for over 90 years, though not as the same name. Thomas Brothers started as Moe Brothers Manufacturing, founded by Hendrick Moe in 1929. The company was acquired by Lee B. Thomas in 1948 and was changed to Thomas Lighting in 1953. Since then, Thomas Lighting has seen a growth in size and reputation.
Thomas Lighting joined up with Genlyte Group in 1998, creating one of the largest lighting manufacturers in North America. Thomas Lighting was then purchased by Philips Lighting in 2008, adding more of a traditional sensibility to Thomas Lighting’s contemporary designs.
The products of Thomas Lighting vary greatly in design and still find a nice balance between contemporary and traditional, for a nice stylistic look in whatever home they are installed into. Such products include chandeliers, pendants, ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, recessed and track lighting and even Tiffany lighting.
